International Student Scholarships

Exceptional international scholars can earn up to US $10,000 per year in scholarships at Alfred State College. 

All admitted international students are automatically considered for scholarships — no separate application is required. Scholarship decisions are based on academic performance, English proficiency, and other achievements. Students are notified of their awards upon admission.

International Cultural Scholarship

Awarded to international students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

International Merit Scholarship

Granted to strong students who meet higher academic, test score, or English proficiency standards.

International Excellence Scholarship

Reserved for exceptional students who demonstrate outstanding academic and language achievement.

Award Levels

Depending on your qualifications, you may receive:
• US $3,000
• US $6,000
• US $10,000

The Cultural Scholarship may be combined with either the Merit or Excellence Scholarship.

Merit and Excellence scholarships cannot be combined with each other.

Final award amounts are determined by the Office of International Admissions after a full eligibility review.
