Transfer Credits
Evaluation and Awarding of Transfer Credit
To have transfer credit officially evaluated, an official transcript from the original institution or source must be submitted. Under the coordination of the Transfer Advisor, courses completed with a grade of D or better and that meet the criteria outlined in Academic Regulation 305 will be reviewed for potential transfer credit.
Courses that are not initially approved for transfer will be automatically reviewed by the appropriate academic department to determine whether they may be applied toward graduation requirements.
Students who wish to appeal a transfer or prior learning credit evaluation may do so by following the transfer credit appeal process.
Preliminary transfer credit evaluations are emailed to students after an admissions decision has been made. For additional information regarding transfer credit, please contact Jason White, Transfer Advisor, at 607-587-3954 or via email.
Important Note:
To be eligible for a degree, students must complete at least 30 credit hours at Alfred State (excluding challenge credit). This requirement may limit the total amount of transfer credit accepted.
