Bill Goodrich, ’84, and Edward Pettinella, ’71, were inducted into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame. Several members of the Alfred State Administration and Institutional Advancement team attended the celebration.

LeChase Chairman and CEO Bill Goodrich, ’84, and Former President and Chief Executive Officer of Home Properties, Inc. Edward Pettinella, ’71, were inducted into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame at ceremonies held at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

Goodrich and Pettinella were joined in the 2026 class by James Sydor, Chairman of Sydor Optics, Inc.

Goodrich graduated from Alfred State College (ASC) with a Construction Engineering degree and joined LeChase in 1985. In his 41 years he rose through every level of leadership and has helped the company to become one of the largest firms in Rochester and the Mid-Atlantic. He was named Chairman and CEO in 2024.

The Goodrich family has stayed connected to Alfred State. Last fall, they announced a $1 million gift to support the college’s Unleashing Potential campaign. He was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate by the State University of New York in 2014 and the Alfred State Medallion in 2010.

Pettinella, who was honored posthumously, graduated from Alfred State with an accounting degree before furthering his education at Geneseo (1973) and Syracuse University (1976). His impressive career in banking included becoming the first investment analyst at Community Saving Bank, President of Charter One Bank of NY, Executive Vice President of Charter One Financial Inc., and several management positions with Rochester Community Saving Bank. In 2001, he joined Home Properties where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Proceeds of the event supported Junior Achievement of Central Upstate New York. Junior Achievement provides students with financial literacy, entrepreneurial, and career readiness skills that enable economic mobility and lifelong success.

Established in 2001, the Rochester Business Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding business leaders and entrepreneurs who have made extraordinary and innovative contributions to free enterprise and the quality of life in our community.

Each year's honorees are chosen by the Rochester Business Hall of Fame Selection Committee, which is advised by an independent group of community leaders that includes past inductees.

Those selected for induction must have exemplified business leadership, made significant accomplishments impacting their organization, business or industry, be a source of inspiration and encouragement for others, and have made significant contributions to their community.
