Alfred State College's
Office of Admissions is hosting its annual High School Visitation Program this
fall.  The program has been scheduled for each Thursday starting Sept. 25,
and running through Nov. 13, 2008.

Alfred State College's
Office of Admissions is hosting its annual High School Visitation Program this
fall.  The program has been scheduled for each Thursday starting Sept. 25,
and running through Nov. 13, 2008. 

This year Alfred State College will
host more than 50 high schools from the Western New York and Northern
Pennsylvania areas to provide an opportunity for high school juniors and
seniors to explore various career fields and academic majors offered at Alfred
State.  The faculty from both the Alfred Campus and the School of Applied
Technology campus, located in Wellsville, will provide academic overviews and
discuss career options for these high school juniors and seniors.

Schools scheduled to
visit Thursday, Sept. 25, include Salamanca Central High School, Jamestown
Senior High School; Sherman Central High School; Bennett High School, Buffalo;
Cleveland Hill High School (Buffalo); East Syracuse-Minoa Central High School;
Ripley Central High School; Panama High School; Springville High School; and
Bradford (PA) Area High School.

Visitors scheduled for
Oct. 2, include Falconer Central High School; Warsaw Central High School;
Bradford (NY) Central School; Cheektowaga High School; Coudersport (PA) Jr.-Sr.
High School; Oswayo Valley, Shinglehouse, PA; Cowanesque Valley (PA) High
School; Hinsdale Central High School; and Watkins Glen Central High School.

On Oct. 9,
Canisteo-Greenwood Central High School; Avoca Central High School; Attica
Central High School; Bloomfield Central High School; Dundee Central High
School; Elkland (PA) Area High School; Honeoye Central High School; Scio
Central High School; and Northern Potter (PA) High School are scheduled to
attend.

On Oct. 30, visitors will
include Wellsville Central High School; Arkport Central High School; Fillmore
Central High School; Wayland-Cohocton Central High School; Letchworth Central
High School; Prattsburgh Central High School; LeRoy Central High School;
Belfast Central High School; Naples Central High School; and Avon Central High
School.

On Nov. 6, Friendship Central High School; Jasper-Troupsburg Central High
School; Whitesville Central High School; Cuba-Rushford Central High School;
Hammondsport Central High School; Haverling Jr.-Sr. High School (Bath); and
Perry Central High School will be in attendance.

And, on Nov. 13,
Alfred-Almond Central High School; Andover Central High School; Geneseo Central
High School; Hornell Senior High School; Keshequa High School (Nunda); and
Wayne Central High School will close out this year's program.

In addition to learning about
academic programs, these visiting high school students will also have the
opportunity to learn more about the residential aspects of college life and the
more than 50 clubs and organizations available at Alfred State College. 
The Auxiliary Campus Enterprises & Services (ACES-campus dining and vending
operation) of Alfred State College will provide lunches for all visiting
students.

This year the school counselors will
be visiting the new athletic field, the college farm and the Motorsports
facility, as well as receiving an overview of the College's offerings. 
They will have lunch in the Central Dining Hall.

Alfred State College, a member of the
technology college sector within the State University of New York (SUNY) system, offers outstanding
educational opportunities for students in its nearly 60 associate degree
programs, 16 baccalaureate degree programs, and several certificate programs.
Numerous vocational-technical offerings stressing hands-on learning are
available at the School of Applied Technology Campus located in nearby
Wellsville. The College is accredited by the Middle States Association of
Colleges and Schools, and several programs are also accredited or approved by
program-specific professional organizations.
