Dusty MarshallThe Alfred State College men's basketball team remained perfect in Western New York Athletic Conference play and won its sixth straight game Saturday, 58-48 over Jamestown CC.  With the win the Pioneers improve to 14-4 overall (3-0 WNYAC) while the Jayhawks fall to 10-11 (3-3 WNYAC).

The Pioneers used a 11-0 run in the closing minutes of the 1st half to take a 31-25 lead at the break but the Jayhawks went on a 9 to 0 run to start the 2nd half and led 34-31 with just over 14 minutes remaining.  A-State took the lead for good when they went on a 19 to 6 run in the next nine minutes.

Dusty Marshall (Newfield) came off the bench and led all scorers with 21 points.  He was 9 for 15 from the floor (3 for 6 from three).  He also added eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  Pat White (Warren, OH) chipped in 10 points and eight boards while fellow postman Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Cerrone Jackson (Forrest Hills) added nine points.

ASC shot 51.9% (27 for 52) from the field, 44.4% (4 for 9) from three, and missed all three free throw opportunities.  The Pioneers were slowed down by 20 turnovers but held a 39 to 31 advantage on the boards. 

JCC was led by Patrick Granjean's 17 points and seven boards.  Craig Elston added 10 points and Cody Troutman chipped in six.  The Jayhawks shot 34% (18 for 53) from the field, 25% (6 for 24) from three, and 37.5% (6 for 16) from the line.

The Pioneers hit the road on Tuesday to take on Genesee CC.  Tip off in Batavia is scheduled for 8 p.m.
