High School Arts Competition
Attention All High School Arts Students!
Alfred State College and the department of Digital Media and Animation invite you to submit visual art for consideration in the Alfred State High School Arts Competition!
Submission Info
We are accepting digital submissions from grades 9-12 for visual artworks in the following mediums:
- Traditional media like drawing, painting, and sculpture (if chosen for the exhibition, traditional works should be delivered in their original format)
- Digital Media like digital photography, painting, or sculpting
- Time-Based Art like animation, live action film, or video shorts (No feature length films)

Digital Media & Animation
Students solve real-world creative problems, while building a professional portfolio that showcases their animation and experience in a wide range of digital mediums. The digital media and animation program provides students with a broad range of technical, creative, and problem solving skills to facilitate their employment in new media and animation.
Graphic & Media Design
The graphic & media design program at Alfred State is different from other graphic design programs. It's specifically designed to meet current and future needs of an increasingly screen-filled and design-driven world. Studio courses employ active learning and real-world problem solving, which provide students with an experience that mirrors the professional studio environment.
Game & Interactive Design
Graduates of the Game & Interactive Design B.S. program will be skilled in both designing and developing interactive media. They’ll be prepared for entry-level roles in UX, application and web design, data visualization, and interactive entertainment, with versatile skills that open doors across multiple design fields.
