ASC Emergency Preparedness

In case of a possible emergency, please make yourself aware of points of egress. Even outdoors, knowing your potential exit routes is important to be prepared. Alfred State has ushers, marshals, and others trained in crowd control measures for support along with police and medical professionals standing ready in the unlikely event that they may be needed to assist you.

In case of impending severe weather, Alfred State has contingency plans for a shortened agenda for outdoor events to exit the area before a storm’s arrival. On the day before large outdoor events, a decision to move to indoor locations will be announced by noon one day prior if forecasters predict life-threatening weather conditions during the event.

Alfred State is a public institution and thus protects the First Amendment rights for speech. Alfred State also prioritizes its own rights to assemble for events without intentional disruptions.  Alfred State officials are prepared to follow campus policies and enforce the law to maintain order in the college's lawful assembly.
