President's Welcome
Alumni & Friends,
Interactions with our alumni continue to inspire me. Through visits, phone calls, and emails, I hear stories and memories that reflect the humility, resilience, and strong work ethic that define Alfred State. These conversations also highlight the lasting connections our alumni formed with their professors, classmates, and industries during their time on campus.
It is an exciting time to be a Pioneer. Our enrollment now exceeds 3,800 students, the highest it has been since 1985. We are also celebrating the remarkable success of our comprehensive campaign, Unleashing Potential. Having already raised more than $41 million, I am proud to announce that we have increased our goal to $50 million. Achieving this milestone would make Unleashing Potential the largest fundraising campaign in the history of the SUNY comprehensive university system and further our commitment to expanding student scholarship support, enhancing campus facilities, and investing in opportunities that will benefit future generations of Alfred State students.
As Alfred State continues to grow and evolve, our commitment remains unchanged: providing the exceptional hands-on education and supportive community that have defined the college for generations while preparing students to succeed in an ever-changing world.
Warm regards,
Dr. Steven Mauro
President, Alfred State
