Alfred State sophomore Emily Richardson (Hilton, NY) has qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. She is the first female track & field athlete to qualify for the Nationals.
Richardson is one of twenty athletes across Division III to qualify in the high jump. She enters the Championship tied for the tenth with a season best effort of 1.69m. This past weekend, she finished 8th at the AARTFC Championships in New York City.
Richardson will compete on Saturday, March 14 at 1:30 PM at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, AL.
Richardson is the second female athlete to qualify for a National Championships. Last weekend, Dianna Pineda competed in the Wrestling National Championships in Coralville, IA.
