Alfred State senior Elijah Adams has been named one of the two recipients of the Eastern Athletic Communication Association (EAST-COMM) Esposito Award. He will be presented with his award at their annual workshop in Williamsport, PA on June 18.
Adams, a sport management major, has worked in the athletic communication department at Alfred State during his whole college career. He has supported game-day operations, written event recaps, updated record books, and worked on the Alfred State Sports Network. He also trained his fellow student workers. For his efforts, he was the 2026 recipient of the Alfred State Athletic Department’s Pioneer Student Service Award.
During his final semester, Adams performed his internship at Alfred University with their athletic communication office. For his work he was awarded the Exceptional Saxon Award given to individuals that go above and beyond in support and service to AU athletics.
Adams attended the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Convention in Orlando last year as part of their student program. He has also worked with the Buffalo Bills as a Guest Service Event Staff member.
He is also an EOP Student Ambassador and a Peer Leader. This spring he was one of 49 SUNY EOP students honored with the Norman R. McConney Award for Student Excellence.
The Esposito Award is presented annually to a graduating senior that worked in athletic communications and plans a career in athletics. Ryan Mosher from Slippery Rock University is the second recipient of the Esposito Award.
