Alfred State College freshman Cedric Crowder (Gates Chili) qualified for the NJCAA Division III National Championships with a solid day at the University of Rochester Invitational on Wednesday.

Crowder finished 2nd in the 100 m hurdles in 15.52 to qualify for the National Championships.  He also finished 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 6.36 m in his first meet of the season after recovering from injuries.

Andy Omoregie (Gates Chili) won the high jump (1.88 m) while Ken Pixley (Bainbridge-Guilford) was 3rd in the 800 (2:08.66).

Najia McGee (Rochester/Edison) won the 100 m dash (12.87) and finished 2nd in the 200 (26.62).  Emily Fields (Red Creek) earned a 2nd place finish in the shot put (8.44 m) and a 4th place finish in the hammer throw (32.61 m).

The Pioneers close out the regular season on Sunday when they travel to Cornell University for the Big Red Invitational.  Action is set for a 11 a.m. start.
