The Admissions Office at Alfred State College will host regional school counselors, directors of guidance, and college advisers for SUNY Operation Inform 2008 on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008. This professional development opportunity features SUNY workshops and the chance to explore current topics in higher education.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Lake Lodge on Terbury Road, Alfred, where participants will register and enjoy breakfast during welcoming remarks and a SUNY update.
Following this brief introduction, several working sessions are planned which will deal with areas of interest to the counselors, including what's new in SUNY; EOP application review; campus-based workshop, "Honoring Tradition, Embracing Innovation" for a Green Future, a presentation by Dr. John Anderson, president of Alfred State College; Student Services at SUNY campuses; and athletics in SUNY; additional Alfred State College-specific topics will be addressed.
ASC's Culinary Arts Department will provide a delightful display of finger food and hors d'oeuvres during the professional exchange. This exchange is a chance for school counselors to mingle with other SUNY Admissions representatives.
