April features multiple civic engagement activities

Alfred State students work in the community garden during the Fall Day of Service. April features a wide range of civic engagement events.

The Alfred State community has a wide range of civic engagement activities planned for April as students, faculty, and staff Spring into Action. Events begin this week and run throughout the month.

"I am inspired each year by the expanded efforts of our student body and the faculty and staff that support them when it comes to being civically engaged,” commented Director of Global Engagement and Civic Wellbeing Cyan Corwine. “Service is woven into the fabric of our learning experiences here at Alfred State and it is nice to see concentrated student-initiated service efforts each April during our Spring into Action campaign, which incidentally aligns with Global Volunteer Month. The end of the semester comes with an additional work load, but it doesn't slowdown that desire to strengthen community through service."
