Harrington Named Co-Player of the Week

Alfred State College freshman cornerback Brett Harrington (Rochester/Edison) has been named the Northeast Football Conference co-special teams player of the week.

Harrington had a big day blocking kicks as the Pioneers battled Louisburg College.  He blocked a 43-yard field goal attempt in the 2nd quarter and then blocked a PAT attempt in the final seconds of the first half.  After blocking the PAT, Harrington scooped the ball up and returned it for the defensive two-point conversion.  On the defensive side of the ball he added three tackles.

He shares the honor with Nassau CC kicker Taureen Durham who was 4 for 5 in PAT attempts and was 2 for 2 in field goal attempts as the Lions capped their perfect season with a 47-7 win over ASA.

Harrington is the third Pioneer to win the weekly special team's award and fourth Pioneer to be honored by the Northeast Football Conference.
