Services During COVID-19

  • Making an appointment at Health and Wellness Services:
    • Health and Wellness Services will no longer be a walk-in facility. All appointments, counseling or medical, must be scheduled ahead of time by calling Health and Wellness Services at 607-587-4200.
    • If you are experiencing life-threatening COVID-19 symptoms, call University Police at (607) 587-3999. If you are experiencing non-life-threatening symptoms, call the Alfred State COVID-19 Resource Line at (607) 587- 2619.
  • Telehealth appointments at Health and Wellness Services (Counseling and Medical):
    • Counseling appointments, and some medical appointments, can be completed virtually through our HIPPA complaint platform, doxy.me.
    • By requesting a telehealth appointment, you are agreeing to the limitations and benefits of telehealth.
    • You will want access to a reliable broadband connections and video/audio communication through a device. As with all video calls, aim for good lighting, a stable surface for your device, and low background noise.
    • If you need a secured/confidential location to do this, you can reserve a telehealth location within the SLC. Please reach out to Health and Wellness Services to schedule that location during the time that it is available.
      • We ask that once your session in completed you properly disinfect the room.
  • In-person appointments at Health and Wellness Services (Counseling and Medical):
    • Medical appointments that are necessary to take place in-person will still be available. 
    • If a student is experiencing an acute crisis, Health and Wellness Services counseling department may deem an in-person session necessary. In the event that a student needs to enter TA Parish Hall, an appropriate screening will be completed prior to admittance.
