Internship Opportunities

Here at Alfred State College, we believe that internships are an integral part of career development. The generalized skills that you learn from an internship experience will allow you to build core competencies in the areas of Career- & Self-Development, Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork, and Technology. These competencies are valued by employers, and they seek candidates who have some or all of these attributes.

Below, you will find a curated list of internship opportunities. Whether you are seeking a summer internship or a part-time role during the academic year, these listings provide valuable hands-on experience. Explore these opportunities to gain practical skills, build your network, and kickstart your professional journey.

Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (aka SPEED) Internship Program

The application for this summer’s implementation of the SUNY Program for Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (aka SPEED) Internship Program is open now, closing on April 30. This program offers undergraduate students from any SUNY institution the opportunity to gain professional experience as an intern at a START-UP NY company or other local small/medium-sized company or organization in the Capital Region.

Open to all majors, students submit their application to be reviewed by a committee of UAlbany faculty and staff. Upon acceptance, the staff then curate’s internship opportunities through connections with START-UP NY, Innovate 518, and other employer connections throughout the Albany area based on student preference, skillsets, and academics. Positions are remote, hybrid, or in-person in Albany, NY.

During their time in the program, students will also participate in exclusive leadership workshops, complete a career and internship preparation course, and develop an entrepreneurial project, all while gaining experience in their internship and earning academic credit.

More information about the internship program and the application can be found on the website.
