Culinary Arts to host Oktoberfest buffet

The Culinary Arts department will host an Oktoberfest buffet style dinner on Oct. 12 at Alfred State’s Wellsville campus (2530 River Rd., Wellsville, NY 14895). The dinner is $25 each and the proceeds will benefit Culinary Arts scholarships.

The Educational Foundation of Alfred, Inc., a private foundation representing faculty, staff, and friends of Alfred State College (ASC), recently added Justin Cornelius to their board. Kishan Zuber, the college’s new Vice President for Enrollment Management, has also joined as an ex-officio member.

September 11: Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance

On Sept. 11, 2001, almost 3,000 people lost their lives during the attacks at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93. Twenty-two years later, Alfred State continues to honor these victims and their families. We also remember the heroic efforts of first responders who endangered their lives answering the call.

Bob Pahl Sketching Award recipients announced

The honor began in 2012 and is named for Bob Pahl, a Boston-area architect, who graduated from Alfred State in 1981 with a degree in architectural engineering technology. The awards were presented this year to Vina Pham, Lauren Fisher, and Katie Petix.
