Effective March 19, Sammons assumed the role of interim director of Alumni Relations. Brintle will begin serving as the new associate director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations beginning March 23.

An entrepreneur, philanthropist, and civic leader, Golisano graduated from Alfred State in 1962 with a degree in general business management. In 1971, he founded Paychex, a leading national provider of payroll, human resource, and benefit outsourcing solutions for more than a half-million small and medium-sized businesses.

“The lift is an incredibly generous donation that will be used for educational and campus support purposes for many years to come,” Eric Wilmot said.

“Those skills that I learned 12 years ago, I still use today as the head of product at a startup,” Doty said. “I really can’t thank Alfred State enough for giving me that education and opportunity to grow and find success.”

On Saturday from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. the Pioneer Pub will once again be open for drinks, dancing, and food as alumni and friends gather to celebrate Alfred State and share memories of their time at the college. The event includes a DJ, snacks, and a cash bar. Admission is $10 per person.

Steven Elwell has come a long way since graduating from Alfred State College with a degree in financial planning in 2007. Originally starting as an intern, Elwell has since worked his way up at Level Financial Advisors to become the company’s chief investment officer (CIO). 

Brian Perry, the executive vice president, chairman, and an owner of Perry’s, is both a fourth-generation member of the 100-year-old business, as well as a second-generation Alfred State Pioneer.

United by their Alfred State College roots and a desire to make a difference, a group of ASC alumni came together recently to upgrade the infrastructure at Lions Camp Badger. 

As of the time this article was written, 954 donors had contributed a total of $152,788 in cash and pledges, with donations still coming in online and through the mail. The funds that were not restricted to a certain area will be used to support the greatest needs of the college, primarily scholarships, new programming, updated technology, and athletic programs.

Thanks to 680 donors, Alfred State greatly surpassed its goals for its inaugural Day of Giving on Nov. 29.
