Alumni and friends are welcome to return to Alfred State College (ASC) for a Reunion Weekend on Saturday, June 1. One event may bring back many memories for alumni when the Pioneer Pub reopens for one night at Pioneer Center.

The watering hole was very popular with students, staff, and friends across the southern tier for many years. On Saturday from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. the Pioneer Pub will once again be open for drinks, dancing, and food as alumni and friends gather to celebrate Alfred State and share memories of their time at the college. The event includes a DJ, snacks, and a cash bar. Admission is $10 per person.

In the 1980’s the Pioneer Pub closed when New York State began raising the legal drinking age to 21. The Pioneer Pub is now called the Pioneer Lounge and serves as a multi-purpose space for meetings, group events, and dancing.

The one night celebration at the Pioneer Pub caps off a Reunion Weekend that includes campus tours to see familiar facilities and many new ones, an open house hosted by the nursing program, games on the green, the first ASC Hall of Fame and Alumni Recognition Dinner, and concluding with the Pioneer Pub party.
