Architecture students participate in HOME competition

Alfred State’s Katie Petix (Bloomfield, NY) was recognized with the Simultaneous Award in the competition for her entry “A Place to Dwell.” Petix’s proposal, recently featured in Architype, the digital magazine of AIA Connecticut, was located on the Bay of Naples, Italy, and was comprised of “six 600 square foot homes woven into a multi-story model of elegant efficiency.”

Gary Moore ’76 and Christiana Mehmel ’19 were honored for bringing distinction to their alma mater and to themselves through their outstanding personal and professional achievements. Moore was named the 2023 Alfred State Distinguished Alumni while Mehmel was named the 2023 Alfred State Outstanding Young Alumni Award Winner.
