Praxair, Inc. Gives $10,000 Donation

The Computerized Design and Manufacturing Department at Alfred State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, was the recipient recently of a $10,000 donation from Praxair, Inc., Tonawanda, to be used for student scholarships beginning in fall 2008.

ASC Will Celebrate 100th Birthday, Thursday, May 8

Alfred State College will celebrate its 100th birthday on Thursday, May 8, 2008, with a day-long schedule of events to be held on the Alfred campus.

Beginning at 11 a.m., the campus community will dedicate a "centennial bench" overlooking the academic quad.

57th Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert Scheduled

Alfred State College presents the 57thAnnual Alumni Choral Spring concert, under the direction of Anthony Cappadonia, ASC director of vocal music emeritus.  The concert will be held Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium on the Alfred State College campus.

The concert is open to the public free of charge and features the Alfred State College Alumni Choir; the Alumni Jazz Singers, the '87 Collegiate Quartet, and Andy's A cappella Armada.

After graduating from Alfred State College, Lindsey transferred to SUNY Geneseo where she's majoring in biology.  As part of her education in this area, Lindsey has spent time learning how to perform field research methods which, she believes, will benefit her future career.
