We have learned how to do medical work and I am looking forward in my future semesters to learning more about artificial insemination and more about genetics. Most of the activities are interactive so they got to experience soldering, driving excavators, wiring electrical circuits, and judging dairy cows. There were forty activities and almost every department on campus was involved.”

David Carli, Melanie Ryan, and Andrea Williamson were honored for earning SUNY Chancellor Award at the annual Recognition Celebration.

“WNY Works is a collaborative effort to heighten awareness and interest in associate degrees, certificates, and non-credit training to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for individuals to launch high-demand careers. The goal of this effort, in part, is to reframe perceptions of learning opportunities that lead to careers such as highly skilled trades and technical opportunities in manufacturing.”

The Alfred State Agriculture and Veterinary Technology Department hosted nearly 800 students during a pair of events at the college farm.

First-year Alfred State agriculture student Hope Avedisian (Hilton) and her heifer Fortune finished 8th at the National Junior Dairy Show in Harrisburg, PA.

Instructor Casey Arlig-Hinz and several Alfred State agriculture students volunteered at the Livingston County Farm Fest at Coyne Farms.
