Baseball Team wins three of four over the weekend

The Alfred State College baseball team wrapped up the fall regular season by winning three of four contests over the weekend.  The Pioneers downed Jamestown CC 8-1 & 6-1 on Saturday and then split with Genesee CC, L 9-1 & W 3-1. 

The Blue and Gold will enter next week's Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament with a 9-5 overall record and a 8-4 WNYAC mark.

Lady Pioneers bring home Onondaga Title

The Alfred State College women's volleyball team was a perfect 7-0 (undefeated in 14 games) in winning the two-day Onondaga CC Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #9 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, have now won nine straight matches and are 17-2 on the season.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team doubled up Niagara CCC 6-3 in WNYAC action on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 4-5-1 on the year.

The Alfred State College men's soccer team evened up their Region III Division III record with a 3-2 victory over Niagara CCC on Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers are now 4-4-1 in Region III Division III play and 4-6-1 overall.

Balanced Attack leads Globe past Alfred State

Globe Institute of Technology used a balanced offensive attack to down Alfred State College 28-13 in the first meeting between the two schools.  The Knights gained 458 yards on 94 offensive plays and held the ball for 37:16 of the contest to improve to 3-2 on the season while the Pioneers fall to 2-3 after amassing just 230 yards.

The Alfred State College volleyball team swept through pool play at the Onondaga CC Tournament.  They downed #10 Mohawk Valley CC (30-20 & 30-14), Erie CC (30-17 & 30-19), Fulton Montgomery CC (30-4 & 30-20), and Onondaga CC (30-11 & 30-23).

Kaila SmithAlfred State College three-sport athlete Kaila Smith (Alfred Almond) has scored one goal and has one assist on the women's soccer team thus far.  The Lady Pioneers are 3-4-1 on the year.

Smith was a member of the basketball team and the softball team and this season she has suited up in all eight of ASC's contests.

Genesee CC scored with 5:38 remaining in the contest to break a 1-1 tie en route to a 2-1 Western New York Athletic Conference victory over Alfred State on Tuesday afternoon.  The win improves the Lady Cougars to 7-2-1 and drops the Lady Pioneers to 3-4-1.
