Alfred State celebrated the official opening of a new Recording Studio for students to produce music or podcasts. The studio adds to the various media creation tools offered to students on campus.

“We are proud to provide a high-quality Recording Studio space for our students to be creative,” commented Director of Student Engagement Dennis Dueño. “This gives our office the ability to be intentional about hands-on learning in our students’ co-curricular experience. The Recording Studio is something that was sought out by our student body and is an added amenity to enhance our recruitment and retention efforts.”

The studio features a Mac Studio, LG Ultrawide display curved monitor, Yamaha 7 speakers, Neumann TLM 103 microphone, Pro Tools, Apollo Twin X, Panorama Nectar P4/P6, lights, soundproof walls, and Govee lights.

Gabriel Dueño has been influential in this process from consultation on ordering equipment to set-up. He will serve as the point person to help acclimate students to the space and assist in their productions. This area adds to campus organizations like Bandwagon and other media arts clubs that produce content of campus life by providing a platform for podcasts and other forms of digital media.

The recording studios are located on the fourth floor of the Student Leadership Center. The studio is part of the Bandwagon suite that is located inside the Cultural Life Center.

Dueño continued, “I would like to thank our campus partners in Student Senate for supporting the request by investing in high quality equipment, and our facilities office that helped to ensure that the room was aesthetically pleasing and functional.”
