Western Equestrian wraps up 2023 portion of season

The Alfred State western equestrian team had another strong showing as they finished the 2023 portion of their schedule at Alfred University.

The Alfred State western equestrian team had another strong showing as they finished the 2023 portion of their schedule at Alfred University.

A trio of Pioneers earned first place finishes. Morgan Alemy (Milton, VT) was 1st in Level 1 in the AM show and 2nd in the PM show, Jordan Henry (Little Valley, NY) was 1st in Rookie A in the afternoon after finishing 6th in the morning, and Ashley Wolfe (Painted Post, NY) was 1st in horsemanship and 2nd in reining in the afternoon after finished 3rd in both categories in the morning.

Adeline Milligan (Pavilion, NY) and Laura Mills (Greenwood, NY) each rode to 2nd place in beginner category in both shows. Molly Arnold (Dryden, NY) was 3rd in Rookie A in the PM show, Alyssa Burdick (Valley Falls, NY) was 3rd in beginner in the morning and 4th in the afternoon, while Makenna Dimpfl (Rochester, NY) was 3rd in Rookie A in the morning and 4th in the afternoon. 

Abby Thomas (Lawrenceville, PA) finished 5th in Rookie A in both shows.

The Pioneers will wrap up the regular season when they compete next on Feb. 10 at Alfred University.
