“The Nook” officially opens Friday

Alfred State in partnership with ACES and Perry’s Ice Cream will celebrate the opening of the newest food offering on campus, “The Nook”. Located on the ground floor of the Central Dining Hall, “The Nook” is across from Amigos and Alfie’s.

Alfred State President Dr. Steve Mauro will be joined by Perry’s Ice Cream Executive Vice President and Chairman Brian Perry, ’85, and ACES Executive Director Jonna Anne for the event.

The college community is invited to join the festivities as the trio will be handing out ice cream samples and there with be a raffle giveaway. The event will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 3 p.m.

Items for sale at "The Nook"

“The Nook” will serve both Perry’s hard ice cream and novelty items. It also offers late night food items for after-hour hunger, food for students on the go, snacks for athletes, and treats for campus get togethers. Students can use their dining dollars at the eatery.

Students can find grocery items, allergen free snacks, protein bars and drinks, frozen pizza, heat-n-serve soup, microwavable meals, party snacks, a variety of beverages, and sweet indulgences at “The Nook.”

The Nook is open from Monday through Friday from 5-10 p.m. and from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
