Volleyball Wins Two of Three

The Alfred State College volleyball team won two of their three matches at the SUNY Delhi pod.  ASC opened up the day by dropping a five-game match to Delhi (25-23, 18-25, 25-21, 17-25, 12-15) but rebounded for a 3-1 victory over Mohawk Valley CC (25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-11) and a 3-0 win over Herkimer CCC (25-23, 25-10, 25-20).

The Alfred State College volleyball team won two of their three matches at the SUNY Delhi pod.  ASC opened up the day by dropping a five-game match to Delhi (25-23, 18-25, 25-21, 17-25, 12-15) but rebounded for a 3-1 victory over Mohawk Valley CC (25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 25-11) and a 3-0 win over Herkimer CCC (25-23, 25-10, 25-20).

ASC was led by Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg).  Kraus had 34 kills, 40 digs, and 11 aces on the day.  Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) had 21 kills, 16 blocks, and eight aces, Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) had 38 digs, 17 kills, and three aces, and Mishaya Tuttle (Campbell Savona) finished with 30 digs, 16 kills, and 10 aces.  Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA) passed out 80 assists and collected 24 digs and 14 kills while Kara Anderson (Wayne) chipped in 28 digs.

The Lady Pioneers are now 14-10 overall on the season and 9-5 in Region III Division III contests.  They take the court again next Friday when they travel to the Onondaga CC Tournament.  They are guaranteed four-games in round robin play on Friday and Saturday with the playoffs starting in the early afternoon.
