Three Lady Pioneers Named All-WNYAC

Three members of the Alfred State volleyball team have been named All-WNYAC. Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) and Lera Braun (Waterloo) were named to the 2nd team while Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) was a 3rd team selection.

Three members of the Alfred State volleyball team have been named All-WNYAC.  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) and Lera Braun (Waterloo) were named to the 2nd team while Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) was a 3rd team selection.


Pfleghardt leads the Lady Pioneers with 389 kills (3.57 per set).  She also has 300 digs (2.75 per set), 68 service aces, and 39 aces.  She has appeared in 109 of the team's 126 sets on the year.


Braun has appeared in 116 sets this year as the team's setter.  She has passed out 888 assists (7.66 per set) and has 270 digs (2.33 per set).  She also has 140 kills (.296 hitting percentage) and a team high 83 service aces.


Ramsey has played in 105 set this year as the Lady Pioneers libero.  She leads the team with 444 digs (4.23 per set).  She also has 49 assists and 38 service aces.


The Lady Pioneers head to the Region III Division III Championships this weekend.  The team is the #4 seed and will take on #1 Niagara CCC, #5 Jefferson CC, and the winner of today's #8 Onondaga CC/#9 Corning CC match.  The regionals will start on Saturday at Niagara CCC.
