Pioneers Sit in 10th after Day One of Swim Nationals

The Alfred State College men's swimming team opened up the 2011 NJCAA National Championships with strong performances in the opening night relays.  The blue & gold sit in 10th out of the 14 teams that have scored afer day one.

The Alfred State College men's swimming team opened up the 2011 NJCAA National Championships with strong performances in the opening night relays.  The blue & gold sit in 10th out of the 14 teams that have scored after day one.

The 400 medley relay team of Wade Harrington (Campbell Savona), Tim Guarino (Cornwall), Ethan Wright (Clyde Savannah), and Jake Giglio (Hornell) finished 10th with a swim of 4:12.16.  Wright, Harrington, Guarino, and Josh Stellrecht (Oakfield Alabama) combined for a 12th place finish in the 800 free relay (8:33.29).

The Pioneers have earned 24 points after the first two events.

Action continues on Thursday with preliminary action starting at 10 a.m. and the finals scheduled for 6 p.m.
