Travis Noyd (Union Endicott) earned his first collegiate victory with a complete game eight-hitter in game one for A-State.  He allowed two earned runs, walked three, and struck out four.  He got all the runs he would need when the Pioneers scored three runs, all with two out, in the 2nd inning.

Kenny O'Brien (Norwalk, CT) led the offense with a 4 for 4 day.  He drove in two runs and scored two runs.  Derek Speaker (Starpoint) was 1 for 4 with two runs and two RBI while Briasn Zimmerman (Frontier) was 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored.

Mercyhurst held Alfred to just one hit and held a 3-0 lead heading into the 7th inning of the nightcap before the Pioneers rallied.  ASC collected three hits in the 7th and scored runs on a RBI ground out by Devin Vasquez (New Paltz) and a wild pitch.  The tying run was on third base when the Saints recorded the final out.

Mark Cicotti (Horseheads) took the hard luck loss on the mound.  He tossed six innings allowed six hits while he struck out three.

A-State returns to action on Sunday when they play another WNYAC doubleheader at home versus Erie CC.  First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
