Open to the public, the workshop will be of interest to area woodlot owners, students of agriculture and/or natural resource management, and others interested in learning about forest farming enterprises suitable for this area.
A one-day workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Alfred State College. Open to the public, the workshop will be of interest to area woodlot owners, students of agriculture and/or natural resource management, and others interested in learning about forest farming enterprises suitable for this area. Experienced resource persons will guide hands-on learning activities and on-site discussions. Topics will include 1) tools and techniques for site assessment, 2) shitake mushroom culture, 3) production of ginseng and other medicinal plants, and 4) marketing forest farming products.
