Four Swimmers Earn All-Region

Four members of the Alfred State College men's swimming team earned All-Region honors based on their performance at the Region III/Northeast Districts.  Aaron Mychack (Lansing), Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda), Phillip Valenta (Maine Endwell), and Cory Roberts (Marcus Whitman) were honored.

Four members of the Alfred State College men's swimming team earned All-Region honors based on their performance at the Region III/Northeast Districts.  Aaron Mychack (Lansing), Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda), Phillip Valenta (Maine Endwell), and Cory Roberts (Marcus Whitman) were honored.

Mychack earned All-Region in three events.  He earned 1st team in the 100 fly by winning the event in 55.14.  He was named 2nd team after finishing 2nd in the 50 free (23.12) and the 100 free (49.77).

Kozlowski earned 2nd team All-Region honors in three events.  He swam the 400 IM in 4:29.42, the 200 breast in 2:23.02, and the 1650 free in 17:51.48.

Valenta was a 2nd team honoree in two events for finishing the 100 back in 1:01.05 and the 200 back in 2:12.19.  Roberts was 2nd in the 200 fly finishing in 2:18.42 to earn 2nd team honors.

Mychack, Kozlowski, Valenta, and Roberts helped lead the Pioneers to a runner-up finish at Regional/Districts.  The group will also lead the Pioners into competition this week at the NJCAA National Championships at Erie CC's City Campus.  Action is scheduled to begin on Wednesday evening and run until Saturday evening.  The Pioneer men are the defending non-scholarship champions.
