Alfred State College Welcomes New Faculty Members

Officials at
Alfred State College are pleased to announce the following new hires in the
Division of Academic Affairs: Henry Cabrera, Kera Mariotti, Jeffrey Patronek,
Timothy Piotrowski, and Anthony Reboja.

Cabrera, of Olean, has been hired as a welding instructor at ASC's School of
Applied Technology, where he is responsible for teaching third- and
fourth-semester students advanced welding technology to prepare them to qualify
for AWS Level II Welder certification.  His course load includes theory
(classroom) and hands-on (laboratory) instruction.

Prior to joining the Alfred State faculty, Cabrera has held similar positions
in industry and education.

Cabrera holds a certificate in welding technology from the Community College of
Allegheny County as well as several additional certifications in the field.

Cabrera, a member of the American Welding Society, has been published in The
Welding Journal, a publication of AWS.

Mariotti, of Wellsville, has been hired as a lecturer in the School of
Management and Engineering Technology where she teaches in the surveying
engineering technology program. She is also the owner/proprietor of Mariotti
Land Surveying, Wellsville.  She holds both bachelor and associate degrees
in surveying engineering technology from Alfred State College.

Mariotti served in the U.S. Army from 1993-96.

The Redbank Valley High School (New Bethlehem, PA) graduate is the daughter of
Ken Bish, New Bethlehem, PA, and Kathy Bish, New Stanton, PA.

Mariotti and her husband Joseph are the parents of Isabel, 8, and Joseph, 3.

Patronek, of Hinsdale, has joined the faculty in the Building Trades Department
of the School of Applied Technology where he will teach HVAC (heating, venting,
and air conditioning) courses.  Prior to joining the ASC faculty, Patronek
plied his trade in the industry.  He attended SUNY Buffalo.

Patronek is married to the former Nancy Bogioli; they are the parents of a
daughter Alison, 15.

Piotrowski, of Jamestown, has been hired as an assistant professor in the
School of Management and Engineering Technology where he teaches in the Civil
Engineering Department.

Prior to joining the ASC faculty, Piotrowski served as a project architect and
director of business development at Habiterra Architects, director of facility
planning, and project manager at a variety of Western New York businesses.

Piotrowski holds a master of engineering degree from SUNY Buffalo, a bachelor
of science in structural design and construction engineering from Penn State,
and an associate's degree in surveying technology from Penn State.  He
served in the U.S. Navy from 1974-78.

The Erie (PA) Technical Memorial High School graduate is the son of Shirley
Piotrowski, Erie, and the late Stanley Piotrowski.  He is married to the
former Mary Dixon; they are the parents of three adult children:  Devin,
Jennifer, and Jane.

Reboja, of Angelica, has been hired as a lecturer in the Electrical Engineering
Technology Department at Alfred State College, where he is responsible for lab
preparation and setup as well as lecturing in areas such as digital
electronics, electronic fabrication, computer hardware and assembly. 

Prior to joining the ASC faculty, Reboja served as a senior repair associate, a
sales engineer, a technician, and proprietor of his own engineering firm.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in ECET from California State Polytechnic
University (Pomona) and an associate of science degree in electronics from Mt.
San Antonio College, Walnut, CA.

The Montclair High School (CA) graduate is married to the former Cari
Zobrist.  He is the son of Art and Connie Reboja, Upland, CA.
