Online Student Checklist

To complete the enrollment process, you will first need access to the student portal, my.alfredstate.edu. Your username and initial password can be found Deposit Instructions sheet in your acceptance package.

Once you've accessed the student portal, refer to the items below to guide you through the enrollment process.

Pay Enrollment Process

• Choose $100 off-campus. Be sure to pay your deposit by the due date listed on the Deposit Instructions sheet to secure your place in your major.

Finances

• Complete the FAFSA and StudentAid.gov and be sure to take advantage of all our resources on the Finances page.

Email

• Access your Alfred State email account and check it on a regular basis. For students who have attended college previously, your transfer credit summary will be sent to your Alfred State account.

Register for Courses

• Register for courses after your enrollment depost has been paid. If you're beginning your studies in the summer or fall, course registration can be done mid-April. Spring registration starts in mid-November. Reach out to the department contact to begin the process and request a registration PIN. Please see Department Contacts below for more information.

• Review the list of majors with laptop requirements and select your laptop.

Miscellaneous Items

• Watch your Alfred State email for onboarding orientation webinars and the link to the online student lounge.
• Review other important information such as laptop requirements on your student portal.
