Makell and Ezemma earn Weekly Honors

Alfred State College football players Xavier Makell (Baltimore, MD) and Obi Ezemma (Queens) have earned weekly honors following solid performances on Friday night at Cornell University. Makell was named the Region III male athlete of the week while Ezemma was named the NFC special teams player of the week.

The Alfred State College cross country team had the weekend off from competition but remained in their top five spots in the latest NJCAA Division III polls. The men are ranked #3 and the women are #5.

The 2009 Alfred State College Volleyball Invitational will be held this Saturday at the Orvis Activities Center. The field for the 2009 tournament could be the most competitive in the history of the tournament.

High School Visitation Program

Alfred State College’s Office of Admissions is again hosting its annual High School Visitation Program this fall. The program has been scheduled for each Thursday starting Sept. 24, and running through Nov. 12, 2009.

The Alfred State College men's soccer team scored a goal late in regulation to tie their game with Cayuga CC on Saturday. Neither team could score in overtime and settled for a 1-1 tie. ASC is now 6-4-1 on the season.

The Alfred State College baseball team could not overcome an early 4-0 deficit and stranded the tying run in scoring position in the 9th in a 4-3 loss to Monroe CC. The Tribunes advance to the WNYAC finals while the Pioneers finish the fall season with a 8-6 mark.
