Each campus has a health center to treat student illnesses and accidents. A doctor, nurse practitioner, and registered nurses are available at posted hours on a non-appointment basis. Health Center records are kept strictly confidential.
Accreditation:
Alfred State College Health Services is an accredited organization, having passed a series of rigorous nationally recognized standards for providing quality health care as set by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
Health Fee:
A mandatory health fee is assessed to all students. This fee covers services provided at the Student Health Centers including treatment, prescriptive and non prescriptive medicines, supplies on loan of orthopedic equipment.
Optional Insurance Plan:
A basic optional insurance plan is offered for students who wish to participate. For more information, please see our Student Insurance Plans.
Referrals:
If a student needs specialized services, staff can provide the names, addresses and phone numbers of local gynecologists, orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, internists, etc. X-rays are not taken at the Student Health Centers. Should an X-ray be needed, it can be arranged by going to either Health Center for referral
