Betsy D. Penrose, vice president for enrollment management, joined Alfred State College in August 2018. Previously, she served as the Vice President for Students at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, New York. With over 25 years in higher education, she was the former Jefferson Dean for Enrollment Management and Student Life and worked with the enrollment services staff at Corning Community College in a temporary leadership role in spring 2018.
Vice President Penrose has received numerous professional recognitions including the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, SUNY Financial Aid Professionals (SUNYFAP) William A. Troy Service award, the NYS Financial Aid Administrators Regional Service Award and a SUNYFAP Presidential Citation for Outstanding Service as Advocacy chair. She has served on numerous community boards and most recently completed a nine-year term with the Credo Community Center for the Treatment of Addictions culminating in the board presidency. She is a 2010 graduate of the Jefferson Leadership Institute.
Penrose holds a master’s of science in systems management from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in mathematical science from Penn State University (Capitol). In 2018, she completed an advanced Ruffalo Noel Levitz graduate certificate at Bay Path University in Massachusetts.
