From lasting friendships, to a terrific hands-on education, to competing in once-in-a-lifetime archery events, it’s no wonder that Trystan considers his Alfred State experience to be “one of the greatest times of my life.”
The event featured giveaways, free food, and activities such as a coloring station, do-it-yourself sugar scrubs, and aromatherapy.
Throughout the day, Alfred State held some fun events to coincide with the Day of Giving, including games, cookie decorating, and the inaugural faculty and staff spelling bee showdown, which raised more than $2,700.
Hayano, an interdisciplinary studies major from Osaka, Japan, was able to attend the event because she was named a Campus Compact Newman Civic Fellow for 2019-20.
Students in the building trades: building construction; masonry; heavy equipment operations; electrical construction and maintenance electrician; and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) programs all had a hand in the construction.
While most virtual tours include a menu of building names, ASC provides areas to explore that are more in tune with what new visitors are seeking.
This expansion and enhancement of the HVAC program will benefit industry in two ways. First, it will provide twice as many graduates each year to meet workforce needs. Second, it will provide graduates with more experience in clean energy, renewable energy, and manufacturing applications.
According to the report, Alfred State earned a No. 2 spot in the 10-year earnings ranking when compared against other New York public colleges whose predominant degree is the associate offering. Among these same schools, Alfred State also came in at No. 2 in both the graduation rate and seven-year repayment rankings.
Icahn Automotive, an Icahn Enterprises L.P. company, which owns and operates leading repair and maintenance providers Pep Boys, AAMCO and Precision Tune Auto Care, recently celebrated the opening of a rebranded technical training facility at Alfred State College of Technology (Alfred State) with refreshing and inspiring wall graphics.
The Alfred State College Performing Arts Department will be hosting its annual free Instrumental Music Winter Concert, “Winter Festival,” on Friday, Dec. 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center Cappadonia Auditorium.
