I applied to Cobleskill and Alfred and was accepted at both. I was not familiar with Western, NY so going to Alfred seemed like a new frontier to me.”

Seven Alfred State students will represent the college at the National SkillsUSA Championship in Atlanta, GA.  The competition takes place June 24-28.

Alfred State’s Cory Bennett, Lois Curran, Frank Smith, and Joy Williams were honored with Pioneer Awards at the annual Recognition Celebration.

Justin Dix, an instructor in the electrical construction and maintenance electrician program, and Jon Nickerson, director of facilities, were the recipients of the Leadership through Civic Engagement award.
