John Lewis, ’01, and Sandy Burdick have joined the Alfred State Office of Institutional Advancement as Director and Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations.
“I am excited to have John and Sandy join our Advancement team,” commented Vice President of Institutional Advancement Danielle White. “Their dedication to Alfred State, experience and knowledge, along with their fun personalities, will complement our team and enhance our alumni connections and fundraising efforts.”
Lewis graduated with an associate degree from Alfred State in 2001 before earning both his bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in college student development from Alfred University.
Most recently, Lewis worked in Admissions as the Associate Director of Admissions. He has previously held admissions and student affairs positions at Alfred University.
In his new role as Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, Lewis is responsible for developing key alumni relationships and growing the Pioneer Fund to support key needs of the college and students. He will also work with administration to determine future college priorities and prepare for the next comprehensive campaign.
Burdick has worked at Alfred State since 2009. Most recently she worked in the Student Engagement Office as the Assistant Director of Student Unions and Event Support. During her time in student engagement, Burdick held numerous positions and with each role she gained more responsibilities and duties.
In her role as Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, Burdick is responsible for supporting the efforts to engage alumni, promote a culture of philanthropy, and encourage support to the Pioneer Fund.
With the addition of Lewis and Burdick, Jason Sciotti and Mary Perkins have redefined positions. Sciotti is now the Director of Development and Corporate Relations while Perkins is now the Director of Scholarship and College Relations.
