The KOS Inc. team led by Joe Karpinksi took home the title in Alfred State College's 2020 Pioneers Drive for the Development Fund Golf Tournament played recently at the Wellsville Country Club. This sixth annual tournament was presented by Mach Architecture and was played on the par 71 course in Wellsville.

Karpinski teamed with Matt Kurtz, Mike Kurtz, and Skylar Blumer to shoot -11 under to take home the title. This comes after finishing second in the 2019 version of the tournament. The Otis Eastern team of Chuck Neal, Mike Obuhanich, Thomas Hirsch, and Brent Rohrbacher also shot -11, but after USGA tie-breakers finished second. The team of Gary Porter, Casey Cowburn, Jerry Jusianiec, and Steve Reitnauer finished third with a -9.

The day was filled with skills competitions, silent auction items, and over 50 door prizes. There was food on the course throughout the day and a barbecue dinner on the deck after the round. At the end of day, all the teams walked away with a few items and hopefully many fond memories of the 2020 tournament.

Jason Sciotti, director of Development at Alfred State, said, "After postponement of our normal June date, we finally decided it was time to give it a go and enjoy a day of somewhat normalcy with our Alfred State alumni and friends. The day was very different from our prior outings, but it turned out terrific! The field was cut to 18 teams, the interactions and activities throughout the day were limited but the smiles, jokes, and laughs were at a premium. Kudos once again to the Wellsville Country Club for the work they do. This event would not be possible without our great sponsors and we are thankful for them. At the end of the day we were able to raise over $22,000 to help support the students of Alfred State."

The tournament was presented by Mach Architecture, PC.  Event sponsors this year included Pepsi (ACES); Manning & Napier; Otis Eastern; Pathfinder Engineers & Architects. Our Eagle sponsors included Elderwood of Hornell; U&S Services/Stark Group. The contest sponsors were National Fuel; St. James/UofR; Brandy's Cup of Joe; LaBella Associates; IBEW #86; Elderwood of Hornell.
