As a way for students to relax and have some fun before finals week, Alfred State College recently hosted a De-Stress Fest in the Central Dining Hall.

The event featured giveaways, free food, and activities such as a coloring station, do-it-yourself sugar scrubs, and aromatherapy. De-Stress Fest was made possible thanks to student organizations, with the Alfred Programming Board hosting the event and Late Night Events providing assistance.

According to Coordinator of Student Activities Brittany Richards, the event was moved to the Central Dining Hall from the Student Leadership Center as a result of a power outage, which also affected some of the programming. However, she said, student organizers did an excellent job of making the event a success.

“We had location changes, activity changes, and cancellations to work around and all the students did an amazing job to uplift the spirits of everyone who attended,” Richards said. “A very special thank you to ACES and Senior Catering Manager Bron Norasethaporn for working with us to move the event and make sure we had everything we needed for catering.”
