Dr. Edward Tezak, a SUNY distinguished service professor emeritus of Alfred State College, was recently recognized by the Allegany County Board of Legislators for his 30-year career in the military.

Tezak, who served in the Army from 1963 to 1993, was honored before the board’s recent regular monthly meeting, and he also led those present in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Prior to his retirement in 2016, Tezak held a number of positions during his career at Alfred State, including dean of the School of Engineering Technology, associate professor of mechanical engineering technology, and chair of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology Department.
