The Alfred State Drama Club will dazzle and delight audiences from April 11-13 with its upcoming performance of “Hairspray the Musical” at the Orvis Activities Center.
Hairspray shares the story of Tracy, a young girl from Baltimore, whose goal is to make it onto the Corny Collins Show to display her talents and integrate the white and black communities on national television in a 1960s segregated Baltimore. Alfred State's production of Hairspray stars Katie Brooks, a digital media and animation major from Walton, as Tracy Turnblad.
The show times are as follows:
- Thursday, April 11 – 7 p.m.
- Friday, April 12 – 7 p.m.
- Saturday, April 13 – 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are $2 for students and $7 for general admission. To purchase tickets, please stop by the first floor of the Central Dining Hall on the Alfred campus on weekdays from now through April 12 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. daily.
