The Alfred State College wrestling team went 1-2 at the ASC Duals on Saturday to close out the 2010 portion of their schedule. The Pioneers are now 2-6 in dual matches on the year.
In their opener, ASC was slowed by three forfeits in a 37-15 loss to WNYAC rival Niagara CCC. Cody Dill (Unatego) earned a pin 2:06 into his match at 133 lbs, Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) pinned his opponent in 2:50 at 149, and TJ Nelson (Somers) earned a 5-0 at 197 lbs.
Dill, Peet, and Shawn Hanrahan (Unatego) all earned pins in the blue & gold's 21-17 victory over Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Dill pinned his opponent in 1:23, Peet in 1:55, and Hanrahan in 3:54. Steve Gould (Pavilion) earned a 8-3 victory at 184 lbs to cap the Pioneers scoring.
ASC gave up 18 forfeit points again in a 31-22 loss to Hudson Valley Club. Dill earned his third pin of the day in 5:43 to improve to 13-5 on the year. Peet won a major decision 18-6 to improve to 15-5 on the year while Hanrahan improved to 13-5 with a pin in 1:19.
Niagara CCC finished the day 3-0 while ASC, Hudson Valley Club, and Thadeus Stevens College of Technology were all 1-2.
The Pioneers have over a month off before they return to action on January 22nd at the NYS Championships at Binghamton University.
