The Alfred State wrestling team returned to action for the first time in nearly eight weeks with a 21-10 victory over Jamestown CC on Wednesday.  The Pioneers have now won three straight dual matches and are 4-3 on the season.

The Alfred State wrestling team returned to action for the first time in nearly eight weeks with a 21-10 victory over Jamestown CC on Wednesday.  The Pioneers have now won three straight dual matches and are 4-3 on the season.

Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) earned a 2-0 victory at 149, Josh Simons (Campbell Savona) won 7-2 at 165, and Nicholas Mieczkowski (Vernon Verona Sherill) won 5-0 in the heavyweight match to lift the Pioneers.  Mitchell Rogers (Jasper Troupsburg) and Matthew Sowers (Whitesboro) earned forfeit victories at 125 & 174 respectively.

In their first meeting this season Jamestown defeated Alfred State 29-15.

The Pioneers return to Jamestown on Saturday to compete in the annual JCC Open.  Wrestling is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
