Mike Gustafson (Warren, PA) led a trio of Alfred State College wrestlers at the NJCAA National Championships in Rochester, MN over the weekend.  Gustafson was the lone Pioneer that registered a victory.

Mike Gustafson (Warren, PA) led a trio of Alfred State College wrestlers at the NJCAA National Championships in Rochester, MN over the weekend.  Gustafson was the lone Pioneer that registered a victory.

Gustafson wrestling in the 133 lb. weight class opened up the competition by defeating Craig Chiles (St. Louis CC - Meramec) 11-7.  In his next match, he fell to Billy Murphy (Iowa Central).  Gustafson's tournament ended due to an injury.

Darren Whittall (Starpoint) and Dan Dwyer (Lafayette) also competed for Alfred State.  Whittall fell to Ricky Moore (Spartansburg Methodist) and Derrick Adams (Niagara CCC) in the 141 lb. weight class while Dwyer fell to Greg Arndt (Ridgewater College) and Dan Hopkins (Middlesex CC) in the 197 lb. weight class.

Alfred State finishes the National Championship in 35th place.
