Volleyball Wins One of Three at Competitive Pod

The Alfred State volleyball team won one of three matches at the Erie CC Pod. They fell 3-1 to Niagara CCC (14-25, 23-25, 25-23, 20-25), defeated Erie CC 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23), and lost a heartbreaking 3-2 final to Jamestown CC (20-25, 15-25, 25-22, 25-18, 6-15).

The Alfred State volleyball team won one of three matches at the Erie CC Pod.  They fell 3-1 to Niagara CCC (14-25, 23-25, 25-23, 20-25), defeated Erie CC 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23), and lost a heartbreaking 3-2 final to Jamestown CC (20-25, 15-25, 25-22, 25-18, 6-15).


Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the way with 40 digs, 39 kills, and four aces on the day.  Lera Braun (Waterloo) passed out 107 assists and collected 36 digs and 12 kills.  Michelle Wesolowski (Attica) finished with 22 kills, 14 digs, and two aces, Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) had 22 digs, 20 kills, and seven aces, and Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) finished with 68 digs and two aces.  Brittany Hill (Corning West) added 16 kills and four blocks.


The Lady Pioneers are now 14-6 overall on the season and they are 9-3 in Region III Division III play.


Alfred returns to action on Wednesday when they have a rematch with Jamestown CC.  The WNYAC match is slated for a 6 p.m. start at the Orvis Activities Center.
