The Alfred State College volleyball team earned their 31st victory as they wrapped up the regular season with a 25-6, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Erie CC. The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in the latest NJCAA poll, are now 31-3 on the season and 6-0 in WNYAC play.

The Alfred State College volleyball team earned their 31st victory as they wrapped up the regular season with a 25-6, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Erie CC. The Lady Pioneers, ranked #6 in the latest NJCAA poll, are now 31-3 on the season and 6-0 in WNYAC play.

Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) and Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) each recorded nine kills to lead the Blue & Gold. Jerome added four digs and an ace while Toyodome had three digs. Emily Linn (Portville) chipped in six kills, Breanna Horton (Owego Free) passed out 30 assists and record four digs, and Miki Inoue (Kumamoto, Japan) had a team high 10 digs and six kills. Christina Nolan (Niagara Wheatfield) finished with four digs, two aces, and two kills.

Both Alfred State and Erie CC wore pink uniforms as the teams participated in "Dig Pink" to raise funds for the Side-Out Foundation. The Side-Out Foundation mission is to help battle breast cancer. The amount raised from the event will be announced later this week.

The Lady Pioneers now shift their focus to the WNYAC Tournament that will be played on Saturday at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. ASC will be the #1 seed and will have a bye until the semifinals. The semifinals will begin at 1 p.m.
