The Alfred State volleyball team remains ranked 7th in the latest NJCAA Division III national poll.  This is the Lady Pioneers' second consecutive week ranked 7th.  Alfred State has spent the entire season ranked in the top 10.

The Alfred State volleyball team remains ranked 7th in the latest NJCAA Division III national poll.  This is the Lady Pioneers' second consecutive week ranked 7th.  Alfred State has spent the entire season ranked in the top 10.

Alfred State is led by 1st Team All-WNYAC selections Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) and Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) with 3.5 and 3.6 kills per game respectively.  The Lady Pioneers are also led by 2nd team All-WNYAC selection Breanna Horton (Owego Free Academy) with 9.5 assists per game and 51 service aces.  Third team All-WNYAC selection Emily Linn (Portville) leads the team with 34 blocks.

Alfred State won the Western New York Athletic Conference championship this past weekend by defeating Niagara CCC 3-1 in the semifinals and Genesee CC 3-1 in the finals.  These wins improved the Lady Pioneers' record to 33-3 on the season, helping them earn the top seed in the Region III Division III tournament to be held in Alfred, November 1-2.  Alfred State will play Corning CC in the Regional quarterfinals at 11 a.m. on November 1.
